Individual
Partnerships Testimony
Pastor Jackson spoke at my church, Winston-Salem First, last night and I wanted to say that it was a powerful message and it blessed me more than he will ever know. My marriage & family have been under attack for a long time and I’ve been pushed very close to divorce. His message of “recovering all” was exactly what I needed to hear. He motivated me to fight for my marriage & my family and rededicate myself to my position within my family. Thank you Pastor Jackson – your obedience to God message has made a difference in my life!

"In
2008,
at the age of 60, I was blessed to be part of a mission trip to the
Seeta
Orphanage in Uganda. To do this was something God instilled
in me as a
child, and it was a dream come true! My
husband supported me in my
trip but was unable to come along at that time.
Before our mission team left, my husband and I agreed that
we wanted to
sponsor a child, but once I got there, I was faced with the decision as
to how
to choose one of these children to sponsor.
I was overwhelmed with the joy that I saw in the faces of
the children
at the orphanage. They wrote me letters every day telling me
how happy
they were to live at the orphanage, and of their love for God, and the
food,
"...it is so very good!" I
had to have Mum Betty help me select a child
that was in need of sponsorship. She helped pair me with
Mark, who has
now been our sponsored child for two years!
I was able to meet Mark while I was in Uganda, play with
him, talk to
his Mum, and see his bed and belongings. When I returned
home, my husband
and I communicated with Mark through letters and were able to send him
a
package when a team went to Uganda in January.
But
the moment that has impacted me the most was when Mark
was able to meet my husband, Jim, on a trip in 2009.
Mark dropped to his knees and bowed with respect in
front of Jim, and Jim would no more than turnaround during our
three week
visit, and a little hand would slip right into his. We were
also honored
to be able to pray with Mark when he fell ill during our stay, as well
as
several children suffering from malaria.
During
our
trips, we met several more children needing sponsorship, and my sister,
daughter, and friends have filled that role:
- Little
Irene was 2 in 2008, and she
had a special place in my heart. My daughter sponsors her,
and I was able
to take her a little dress when I returned in 2009.
- My
sister's family sponsors
Christine, an older girl, and she and her friends were the ones who
pulled me
aside and told me they needed to pray for me before I went home.
- Another
family wanted to sponsor a
child with special needs, and I met little Sylvia, who had cerebral
malaria as
a child and is lame. Her mum, Jennifer, was so happy to learn
that her
daughter would have a sponsor.
We
are
truly blessed to be a small part of God's work that
is happening in
Uganda! Praise God for Jackson and Eve Senyonga, and bless them in
their
precious work!"
